Malcolm Gladwell wrote in one of his best seller, "The Tipping Point" as per below:-
"Children Television Workshop was founded in 1960, they found out that kids watch when they UNDERSTAND and look away when they are confused.............."
"Blues Clues is more successful because the power of participation of TV audience. The idea is to get children watching to verbally participate by pausing for few seconds..."
Now let us take a look at Terfaktab's entry for Feb/March
Sabtu 3 Mac Datin Ben-Pen : Wiken Talk - 13 comments
Rabu 3 Mac Datuk Nami : Makwe vs rokok - 58 comments (still going)
Khamis 23 Februari Datin Ben-Pen : Suatu Hari di Pejabat Kadi - 13 comments
Rabu 22 Februari Datin ER : Vanila Coklat - 47 comments
Isnin 20 Februari Datuk Nami : Perempuan dan Tangan Kaki Pukul - 14 comments
Selasa 14 Februari Datin Ben-Pen : Sarka Valentino - 35 comments
Selasa 14 Februari Datuk Aqram : Vappy Valentine Day - 10 comments
Isnin 13 Februari Datuk Nami : Puisi Untuk Erica Micheal Dan Sherina Ellyana - 6 comments
1. If Nami's view is to be seen as "too liberal", as above figure shown,
he only got 6 comments (13 Feb) and 14 comments (20 Feb). but 3 Mac, he got 58 comments.
2. Kalau nak kata menentang agama as per against V-day effect, on the same 14 February,
Aqram got 10 comments against Ben-pen's 35 comments for article.
3.My hypothesis is that, not so much on the content, but at the "speed" of comments coming.
If viewer nampak benda ni got so much comment, dia akan more towards commenting.
4. Masa kes Aqram's entry kat Sokerleaks, aku perasan the comments paling banyak time pukul 2-3 pagi. Pukul 11.23 pagi sampai 1 pagi baru berapa je, tapi the jump of comments at 2-3 pagi yg initiate more comments.
5. I had suspicion that people have more tendencies to comment once the previous comments melepasi 15 comments per 6 hours, regardless of the contents.
15 Comments Rule:
15 comments ni satu benchmark which commentors instinctively based to when deciding whether to comment or not in the entry.
mostly bila satu entry masuk, within 30 minutes akan ada 1 atau 2 comments (comments Firstt!!)
the real discussion usually kicks in at comments 3rd and 4th.
If within 6 hours, those discussion tu tidak mencapai 15 comments, entry itu akan mati begitu sahaja without further comments.
Kalau mencapai 15 comments within or less than 6 hours, for sure entry tu akan banyak gila comments, selalunya akan sampai 20-30 comments for a normal "interesting" entry, tapi kalau emotionally fuelled entry akan membawak more than those numbers.
People will tend to comment entry that has lots of comments, entry tak banyak comments people tend to ignore, and when it's more than 15 comments, instinctively people know it's an interesting entry to be commented of.
In summary, crowd psychology ruled the comments in Terfaktab, Sokernet and Teh Tarik Gelas Besar blog.
My final words, kepada those yang emotionally fuelled hingga tulis "aku nak tumbuk mamat..",
tapi did not discuss your understanding of your view, you are well likened to those preschoolers who watched Blue's Clues.
